Succulent Care 101: How to Keep Your Mini Cacti Alive

The Art of Watering and Light

Succulents and Cacti are the darlings of modern home decor. Their small size and unique shapes make them look great on desk tops and windowsill. However, many new plant owners end up killing them with too much love (i.e. watering). Here are the golden rules:

1. Bright Light is Non-Negotiable

Succulents need at least 4-6 hours of bright light daily. If they grow long, leggy, and pale, they are searching for light (a process called etiolation). Move them closer to a south-facing window.

2. The "Soak and Dry" Method

Only water when the soil is completely dry from top to bottom. Drench the soil thoroughly until water drains out of the pot's bottom, and then let it dry out completely before watering again.
